Luni Lake, RajasthanLuni Is A Small Village Nestled In The Shadow Of Fort Chanwa And Is Home To Many A Skilled Artisan Fashioning Metal, Clay And Wood Into Delicate Forms, Keeping Alive A Tradition Passed Down For Generations.

Lying 35 km away from Jodhpur, Luni village is in the shadow of the Fort Chanwa. This fort is proof of the exceptional elegance and symmetry of Indian architecture and is sure to leave you speechless. This magnificent fortress has been carved out of red sandstone. Featuring ornately carved lattice work friezes and intricate Jharokas, the Fort has exquisite courtyards, towers, stables, passages, stairways, secret pavilions and panoramic roof tops.

It was in 1948 that Chanwa was granted in "Jagir" to Maharaja Dalip Singh, the youngest son of the former Maharaja Umaid Singh. Taking the cue from other successful restorations, it was successfully restored in 1992 by Maharaja Dalip Singh, the 24th generation of direct descent from Rao Jodha, ruler and founder of Jodhpur.

Today Fort Chanwa embraces visitors from distant shores offering unmatched hospitality. With forty five renovated rooms with authentic décor, you will be spoilt for choice. While you are here, you can relish traditional Rajasthani cuisine which is specially prepared by cooks who have served the royal family through the ages. The most striking thing about Luni is the silence. If you are someone who is desperately looking for a break from the rat race, just come to Luni and enjoy seeing the world go by, while enjoying royal hospitality.
