Bhilwada Hotel, RajasthanThough Bhilwara is an industrial town, visitors can find many attractions in the town and its neighbouring areas.

Bhilwara had been sacked several times by invaders over the centuries and takes its name from its Bhil inhabitants though ironically they were driven away from here later. Another story has it that Bhilwara reportedly had a mint where coins known as 'Bhiladi' were made; these lent their name to the city.

There are many attractions near Bhilwara. These include places like Banera, Bijolia, Menal, Shahpura, Gangapur and Mandal. Bhilwara is synonymous with cloth mills and stone quarries. Known as 'Textile City', Bhilwara has more than 14,000 small-scale industries and employs about 35,000 people. Some of the main attractions here include:

A son of one of Prithvi Raj Chauhan's descendants, Sawai Bhoj constructed several temples on the banks of Khari River. These temples are popular with locals and tourists alike for their architecture and serenity.

Lying at a distance of 13 kilometers from Bhilwara, Mandal houses a village named Meza where an irrigation dam has been built. The dam site has picturesque lake with boating facility. The Neelkanth Mahadev Temple here is another major attraction.

Bijoliya lies on a plateau called Uparmal. A wall with two gates on the north and south runs around it. It has five Jain temples dedicated to Parsvanath.

It is a sacred place for followers of the 'Ram Sanehis'. Another huge draw here is the Ram Dwara. The annual 'Phool Dol Ka Mela' is held here on Phagun Shukla for five days where lakhs of pilgrims gather.
